Bass Fishing Rigs

With crankbaits, spinners, plugs, many fishermen have caught bass and other but some of them have the most fun in bass fishing rigs like plastic worms of Texas Rig. To fool the bass by trasnfering the bait from style to style and color to color are very effective and more interactive than with other baits.

The bass fishing rigs like a Texas rig plastic worm is very portable. You don’t have to lug your whole tackle box if you want to hike around the lake and fish the shore. Just get a worm pouch and load it with a few favorite colors, styles, hooks and sinkers and stuff it in your back pocket and hit the trail. Once your bass fishing rigs are set up, it’s a matter of pulling the bait off the hook and sliding another on and it will give you a freedom in explore different styles and colors of plastics in a hurry.

The sinker in a Texas Rig is a bullet slip sinker that rides freely on the line with nothing else between the rod and the bait and when it strikes the bass won’t feel the sinker and the drag the plastic worm down and swim along the bottom. The best sizes of sinker are from 3/8 oz to an ounce and tie the line to a worm hook size 2 or 3 and the twisted ones help with hook set.

You have to run the hook tip through the end of the head of the plastic if the hook already tied on  and push it in about ¼ of an inch and then run the hook tip out of the plastic bait at its belly side and then you have to push the bait up the hook toward the eye and after that bury the tip of the hook into the bait near abdomen or egg sac. Some fishermen push it all the way through and snug the hook tip near the body (on top or on the backside) and this will allows for better hook set but results in more snags.  While others like to push it through just before it breaks out of the back where they can feel that it will pop through easily and if they do this to set the hook hard to penetrate the plastic then they must be sure about this.

When you cast the bait, let it settle all the way to the bottom and give it several seconds before moving it. The longer you wait sometimes will make the better luck you will have.
