Carp rods come in all shapes and sizes, but most are made of carbon fibre as it is so strong and also very light. There are Kevlar versions too at a Price! Lengths vary but a 10 – 12 foot carp rod should do you just fine. As for strength that depends on what you are after. Fishing for 10 lb carp or so a 2 and a half pound test curve rod will suffice, up it to a 4 lb for the bigger fish.
