If you are a good Dad and want to take your child out for a good time fishing for catfish, then this is a definite must read. With this idea of having a good time with the kids, you’ll probably want to get a catfish bait that is going to produce the most strikes, not necessarily the bait that will produce the biggest fish. It would be lying for me to say that the baits I am about to tell you about are the best, because I know shad and perch produce the best fish, but these baits will put you on the fish a lot quicker. I have definitely had good luck catching catfish with the baits I am about to tell you about. Today I want to describe these other baits to you, so you can have a great time with the kids.
So let’s look at 2 of those other baits. Probably the easiest catfish bait to use that will produce the greatest amount of strikes is blood bait. This bait has an odiferous smell that catfish go nuts over, and will bring them in as the bait awaits the fish on the bottom of the lake. This bait will begin to breakdown in the water, and will produce a trail of blood and scent that will direct catfish to your hook, and to your fun. There was an afternoon not to long ago I was fishing in a pond with blood bait, and just killed the catfish.
On to the second bait in the list. And the bait is chicken livers. This bait has been proven over and over again by many anglers to be a very effective catfish bait, mostly again because of the odor.
